Sailing Background & Race Experience
- Grew up sailing open-ocean Hawaiian waters aboard a Peterson 46, establishing an early foundation and complete comfort with heavy displacement hull dynamics, ocean swells, and offshore sea states.
- Extensive one-design racing foundation starting in youth classes—including Club 420s, 29ers, Sunfish, and Razors—building agile boat-handling instincts and apparent-wind awareness.
- Raced Club 420s collegiately, competing in local fleets and traveling to regional regattas.
- Completed the NOLS Women’s Baja Coastal Sailing Expedition in the Sea of Cortez aboard 22-foot Drascombe Longboat open yawls in winds up to 25 knots. Fulfilled active rotational leadership duties as First Mate, Navigator, and Bosun, covering coastal pilotage, anchoring, rig management, and remote wilderness risk mitigation.
Crisis Management & Operational Composure
- Professional background directing incident response under high-stakes conditions; trained to stay calm, methodical, and decisive when systems or equipment fail.
- Practical expertise in self-reliant provisioning, contingency planning, and emergency triage.
- Combines wilderness risk management with detail-oriented operational discipline, emphasizing proactive deck safety, clear communications, and calm execution under pressure.
Galley Management & Dietary Provisioning
- I follow a plant-based/vegan diet that is low-maintenance and self-sufficient, relying on shelf-stable staples, dehydrated rations, and minimal cookware without burdening shared refrigeration or storage.
- Fully comfortable preparing, handling, and cooking standard omnivore provisions (meat/dairy) for the rest of the crew.
Crew Culture & Dynamic
- Prefer sailing with a mixed crew of women and men, prioritizing collaborative communication, shared accountability, and a low-ego team dynamic where responsibilities are shared equitably across watches and it is a learning environment.
- Committed to maintaining high watch morale, balanced communication, and mutual trust across the entire passage to Hawaii.
- While I have water instincts and confidence, I am rusty. I am extremely coachable, catch on very fast, and take direction well. I’m looking for a team where I can put in the hours during pre-race practices, deliveries, and local qualification races to get fully dialed in on your boat's specific systems well ahead of the start line.
